Fangs by Sarah Andersen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with an ARC of Fangs in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
The Gist
I hear about Anderson’s new comic story from her Instagram account. She posted weekly – I think – snippets of the whole story until it was complete on her website.
I meant to keep track of them, but lost track of time. So, when I saw the entire story was available for request on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance.
I enjoyed all of Anderson’s previous work and was curious what she would come up this time.
The Details
A love story between a vampire and a werewolf. And no, there is no hint of the teen angst or drama we have become so familiar with from other, previous stories featuring these legendary creatures.
I like the minimalist approach, so to speak. There were clean lines and not too much shading to overcrowd the frames. The eye was directed towards the main point of the story in each frame.
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words and in the case of this comic story, the author perfectly accomplished it.
I would catch myself looking at certain frames, certain pictures and say to myself “yes, that captures the emotion/message impeccably”.
The Verdict
Overall, this was such a cute story, I adored it. Call me greedy, but I just wished it could have been a little longer.
Another great story by the amazing Sarah Andersen.
