Biss zum Morgen (Lustiges Taschenbuch, #473)

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I am very partial to good, spooky stories. I love reading them all snuggled up and having a good little scare. So, naturally, I was excited when I came across this edition of Lustiges Taschenbuch; the title and cover art looked so promising.

I don’t think I have experienced a greater case of false advertisement than with this comic book. I admit, the first story, Biss zum Morgen, was somewhat spooky and included elements of the horror genre I have seen in previous Disney comics, but the rest of the stories just fell flat, really flat.

They felt like extremely cheesy after-school specials, full of didactic pieces of useful information in the typical “Now, remember kids, look both ways before crossing the street,” sort of way. It was boring and halfway through the edition I started to get annoyed.

There was one story that had no known characters in it at all. It was actually a random story about a crime, featuring stock police characters, none I have ever seen before.

Overall, this was very disappointing. As I said before, I love spooky stories and when someone promises me spooky stories and gives me boring and cheesy flatliners instead, I am not amused.

There was nothing genius about this edition at all, unlike the synopsis stated. I will check to see if I can exchange my purchase for another one. This is a big pass for me.
